ATU has a successfully functioning Board of Trustees, which takes an active part in the development of the university strategy aimed at increasing the level of educational services, participates in organizing control over the implementation of educational programs, gives recommendations on optimizing the management of the educational process, industrial practice and the organization of dual education at enterprises, members of the Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees at the Almaty Technological University was created one of the first in the republic in 2005. Members of the Board of Trustees are heads of the largest food and light industry enterprises and industry unions. These are the Association of Light Industry Enterprises of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kazakhstan Association of Hotels and Restaurants, the Union of Food Enterprises of Kazakhstan, the Association of Accountants and Auditors of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Rakhat JSC, Almaty Yeast Plant JSC, AF IP Efes Kazakhstan, Carlsberg Kazakhstan JSC, LLP "Becker and K", LLP "KazSPO-N", publishing house "Balalar Adebieti", SKF RSE "KazInMetr", hotel "Kazakhstan" and others.
Active cooperation between members of the Board of Trustees and the university is expressed in various forms: internships and educational and industrial practice of ATU students at enterprises managed by trustees, as well as thematic meetings with students within companies, excursions to production. Members of the Board of Trustees take an active part in reviewing working curricula, managing graduation projects, giving lectures, and taking part in many university events, such as open days and university graduation celebrations, and annual alumni fairs.
